I own a little bit of all these theories, but I think I lean a little more toward the functionalist view.  I really agree when Korgen & Furst(2012) talk about how ideas can be forced upon people by societal factors like lack of education, health care, housing , and other resources.  We really need to be able to see how those who are doing this to themselves may need an intervention of sorts.  Education on health eating needs to start early in schools, but it also needs to happen in the house.  If you are raised to believe that mac n cheese is healthy or that just because you made it in the house, its good for you, you will grow up with those ideas and continue to pass it down.
