There are very few places in my city where I can go and find true tranquility. There is a small country town about 40 minutes outside of Houston called Katy. My family for generations has been born and raised there. Katy is one of the most serene places that I have ever visited. I can remember when the town was nothing more than rows of houses surrounded by woods and livestock. Now the town has been able to transform yet still keep its “welcome home” appeal by merging country-living pace with big city convenience. Even though the population has grown since I spent the summers of my youth there, Katy is still one of the best places to go to get away from the hustle and bustle of city living. From the picturesque views, tight knit community environment, and thecalm sounds that envelope you at any given time.
