“Wikipedia is written collaboratively by largely anonymous Internet volunteers who write without pay. Anyone with Internet access can write and make changes to Wikipedia articles…” (Wikipedia, 2011, para. 1.) Since Wikipedia is an open source, meaning that person with a modem and a computer can contribute to the website’s content, leaves a gaping hole as to the credibility of the website’s information. If someone with little to no expertise on a subject can add what they feel is credible information to an article on the site who are we to know as the reader if this information is accurate or completely made up?
