I can think of a lot of things that I can do to increase the amount energy that I expend throughout my everyday life. The first thing that I can do is to make sure that I walk to all the places that I have get to, providing that time will allow; for instance, when I get to work I would take the stairs instead of the elevators. The second thing that I could do is while I am sitting at my desk, do some isometric exercises and take the long way around in doing things while I am walking so as to walk more in my daily life.
The types of exercises that work best for me are the low-impact type exercises such as; walking instead of jogging, deep knee bends instead of jumping jacks and cycling instead of running. Due to bad knees I can only indulge in activities that will not further aggravate my previous injuries.
