The American workforce is suffering from the health insurance blues. The price of health care premiums continue to climb and workers’ out-of-pocket expenses keep rising. The Government has not helped in this area as it continues to make changes regarding health care. This provides hard times for negotiations between the union and management. Employers are seeking to cut costs by changing their health plans, thus prompting employees to push back. Employers are starting to pass down to their employee's higher co-pays and deductibles, sharing premium costs with them, and switching insurance carriers. In almost two years that I have been with my organization, we have switched medical provides three times. This last time my organization changed carriers and it increased my monthly cost for health care.
