Liberation is defined as freedom from limits on thought or behavior. The sexual liberation was an era when sex became less taboo and more talked about. So many things changed in the aspects of sexual behavior and sexual stereotypes. Sexual liberation could be called the sexual revolution because things became very different. For one, people started to study sex. This was basically unheard of before. Dr Kinsey did a study on sexual behavior he determined that sexual behavior varied by social class and age. He was criticized at the time for his work. Freud also did some studies on sexual behavior. Attitudes changed on many issues. Things like feminism, gay rights, hippies, and other political movements were all part of the sexual revolution.
