Communication is part of our everyday lives, but it is the situation that a person is in that can have an impact on just how that person conveys their message. The two main forms of communication are verbal and nonverbal communication. When it pertains to how two individuals communicate, there can be a noticeable difference between what the person listens to and what is actually heard from the other person. As it pertains to individuals within the criminal justice system, there is the use of formal and informal channels of communication. An issue that normally comes up in regards to communication in criminal justice is that there are various types of circumstances that can be a barrier and cause communication to become difficult for some. With that having been said, there are strategies that can be used to help individuals overcome those very communication barriers that they are faced with in the criminal justice field.
