There is a unique relationship between the motivation a person has at work, how they perform at their job, and how satisfied they are with the environment they find themselves in.  Realistically, these factors are interdependent with each other, necessitating a closer look into how to best create and sustain awareness and use of each.  When one factor is lacking, the other two will surely suffer – causing a situation that is counterproductive for employee and manager alike.  For example, if an employee is unable to be motivated to perform his or her job, it is likely that the performance of that job will suffer, hindering his or her job satisfaction in the process.  In an article about how motivation is affected by employer involvement, Geller (2003), as
