A dominant culture, either in a work setting or in society, is the group of people who establish the most popular or most powerful view.  When this group becomes big enough, most often a subculture will emerge – differentiating itself from the main group with slightly different views or ideals from the main group (Baack, 2012).  Either group is still considered dominating, as their ideals or beliefs are in the majority and become a norm for most.
