Search online to obtain and/or prepare charts of the monthly average direct exchange rates for the past two years for the U.S. dollar versus: 1) the Japanese yen, 2) the European euro, 3) the British pound, and 4) the Mexican peso. Your four charts should have the direct exchange rate on the vertical axis and the time on the horizontal axis. From your charts, discuss the following:
1. Has the dollar strengthened or weakened against each foreign currency?
2. What major economic or political factors could have caused the changes in the four foreign currency exchange rates versus the U.S. dollar?
3. Select a factor from Step 2 and present an argument showing how a change in that factor could cause a change in the exchange rate.
4. What comparisons can you make among the four currencies?
Remember to maintain a formal tone and cite scholarly research to support your analysis. (Note: You may not use the course textbook to fulfill this requirement.)
Your analysis should be 4-5 pages in length, not counting the required title and reference pages (citing at least 3 sources), and must be formatted according to the CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA Requirements. Include an introduction and conclusion as part of the paper. Cite and integrate at least 3 credible sources.
You must demonstrate strong knowledge of foreign currency exchange rates. In addition, you must provide a strong critical analysis and interpretation of the information given.
