Students should use the following guideline in preparing a term paper for the SWK 651course. Additionally, students must prepare this term paper in strict compliance with APA Writing Style Guidelines (2010, 6th ed.). Students either should have an APA Style Manual in hard copy or may use reliable and credible APA sources available from the Internet or any number of libraries. A copy of APA Brief Guide has been placed on NSU Blackboard.

 

Cover Page: Name of the social welfare issue or problem selected. Name of the course, date of submission and the name of the student

Abstract Page: One-half page that summarizes the entire major contents of the paper. This page is not numbered. See APA Guide for samples of acceptable abstract formats.

Table of Contents (TOC): Several samples are available from many sources – make sure the pages actually are listed in the TOC and on each page. The TOC is not a numbered page.

References: Generally, 12 to 15 references minimum.

Citations: Generally three or more per paragraph.

Note: All papers should be double spaced with one inch margins left, right, top and bottom.

A. What are the social structural factors that cause/caused the problem (Such as: ideologies, other policies and programs, capitalism, etc.). Citations Needed.

 

Section III: POLICIES: RESPONSES TO THE PROBLEM

_What are the responses (policies and programs) that have been formulated to deal with the problem? Citations Needed.

_Describe in considerable detail (minimum three pages). Citations Needed.

_What have these policies and programs accomplished? (usually included in B above). Citations Needed.

 

Section IV: INSTITUTIONS THAT ADDRESS THE PROBLEM

_What institutions, organizations and decision-makers are primarily responsible for resolving the problem or implementing the laws? Citations Needed.
